The American Darkstalkers Cartoon

Okay, so for my first real post, I will cover the Darkstalkers US cartoon. For those who don't know what Darkstalkers is, it was this fighter by Capcom. It was pretty big in Japan- oh, I'm getting carried away, so I'll do this explaining in a more mainstream way. You know Morrigan from Marvel vs Capcom (all three games), or Felicia (MVC 2 and 3)? They come from Darkstalkers, a fighting game about horror movie monsters fighting for the fate of humanity and control of the planet. The series spawned a cartoon in 1995. It was syndicated and on the wee hours of the morning. The series focused on a kid named Harry Grimore. He.never showed up in the games. He was a wizard, who trained with Felicia. The series begins with Pyron, collector of planets, who wants the Earth. In game, Pyron is an A-class demon, who could take over earth by himself and even.absorb it once it is devoid of life. However, instead he has a dorky space ship with a computer ball. We never see this in game either. He then announces he misses the days of intelligent races, and complains of the billions of common, scrubby humans. The computer says Pyron should destroy them. Instead, Pyron awakens Demitri.

Hey, Demitri, where'd your chompers go?

Demitri was the protagonist of Darkstalkers 1, but still a villain nonetheless. So what do Demitri and Pyron do? Conquer the planet as a team? No, instead, they suck up more monsters to add to their little army. Some of the monsters escape capture. One, Felicia, meets Harry, and they fight the evil team of P&D. Where is Morrigan in.this? She's actually shown to be one of the evil ones working for P&D! She hates humans here, for some reason, unlike in the games. She is also said to actually eat her victims instead of seducing them. She also looks like a clown here, an old clown at that! Why was she evil? Maybe the producers saw she was a demon and went with that. ALL DARKSTALKERS ARE TECHNICALLY DEMONS! Other baddies include Anakaris, Bishamon, and Lord Raptor. Other heroes include Sasquatch, Jon Talbain, Rikuo, and Victor. Donovan, Lei-Lei, and Hutzil also show up as neutral characters. Lei-Lei had a different skin color and had a russian accent for some reason.

 The series also featured Dracula himself as a one-time villain. The last episode has the evil Terramon, a health inspector, try to destroy the world. He is defeated, though.
